Volcom Stone’s Crustaceous Oaks Summer Camp Awards

The Martian Laser team met up with Volcom to help create the awards for Volcom Stone’s Crustaceous Oaks Summer Camp Champs.  Volcom provided wood paddles about 5ft tall and wanted the faces engraved.  We sandcarved into the wood paddles and color filled with black paint.  Sandcarving was the ideal method to move forward with these awards. We also provided gold/black plaque plates to identify each winner on each paddle.

Here is the 9 step process we used to sand carve these paddles and to create a beautiful award:

1. - Artwork creation
2. - Stencil creation and washout
3. - Application of stencil/mask onto paddle
4. - Paddle protection
5. - Sandblasting the paddle
6. - Paint fill
7. - Remove the stencil/mask
8. - Clean the paddle
9. - Apply the plaque plate

The outcome of these paddles were amazing, the depth and even blast into the wood, along with the gold/black plaque plate to match the accents of the wood created a very high-end award.
